He made us work for it!!

When I arrived to this little ones session he grinned at me and instantly I saw an adorable little dimple.  Well as soon as the camera went in front of my face **POOF**  it was gone.  So our mission became capturing the elusive dimple.  Now, I bet your pretty excited now to see this said dimple but I’m saving it for the gallery!!  Ha!  Even without the dimple he is pretty darn cute.   He fell asleep for a bit in daddy’s arms so I took advantage.  I love sleeping babies and there is no safer place in my opinion than in daddy’s arms.   He woke up and then we did some with his beautiful momma!  Here’s hoping your colicky days are over “H” family and thank you for letting me spend the afternoon with you!blog13

I love how his foot is on his dad’s thumb.  So tiny!

Look how he is holding his hand…how sweet is that?!

I’m not sure it gets any more comfy than this.

and the stare I love so much!!

30×40 Metallic Gallery Wrap

While we were getting our emergency hair cut yesterday I decided to take an image of my friends new metallic wrap she had printed from our session.  It is SIMPLY AMAZING!!  Love, love, love it!!

I nearly cried…

When I found the locks of golden hair laying on the dining room floor.  I nearly cried when my friend Jessica pulled the rest of her hair into a pony tail and cut it all off.  My husband kept saying, “It could be worse.”  He’s right, it could be worse.  She now has a fresh new do for Spring that will be much easier to do in the morning.  Here are a couple of Emma’s attempt at cutting her hair and then of my friend Jessica’s fix.  She could be bald and I’d still think was the cutest thing ever!!  I tried telling her that if she cut her hair again she would look like a boy.  Well, her response was, “I want a boy haircut!”  Needless to say ALL of our scissors are under lock and key!

Photographer in the making…

My friend Colleen is a bit ornery, which is probably why all my little clients love her.  Our sons are on the same basketball team this year so we get to watch the games together.  Emma was sitting with her and picked up her camera and wanted to take a picture.  She couldn’t get it to work so Colleen told her that she had to stick out her tongue and scrunch up her face in order for the camera to work.   So, Emma  did exactly that…

Ha ha!  I nearly laughed my head off!!  This is her taking a picture of me…(if you look closely her tongue is still out)

…and this is the picture she took!

Pretty darn good if I do say so myself.  I’m loving the composition on this one.

Thanks for the chuckle Colleen!

She’s one!  I have to tell you that my first birthday sessions are always bittersweet.  While I love, love watching these kiddos grow it makes me sad I won’t be seeing them every few months.  To know I have captured these babies from sweet little newborns to expressive little people melts my heart.  I love my job, I really do.

I have photographed her in a cupboard, near a deer, and on a bear.

I have photographed her in a basket, with a hat, and on a chair.

I have photographed her in a carriage, on a sled, almost everywhere.

“I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them, Sam I am.”

Ooops!, felt like Dr. Suess there for a minute.

Happy, Happy 1st Birthday “J”!!!!
